The ‘Modern Gandhi’ – Anna Hazare’s fight against corruption has intensified with the draft of a teethless ‘Lokpal Bill’ by the Government. Since the day the government has made the draft of ‘Lokpal Bill’ public, Anna and his team’s key members Arvind Kejriwal and Kiran Bedi is appealing the countrymen to come forward and boycott the bill. On the otherhand, the Congress led UPA (United Progressive Alliance) and its leaders, namely Kapil Sibbal, Manish Tiwari, Digvijay Singh, Ambika Soni and Janardan Trivedi had given many cheap and illogical statements against Anna.
Anna’s indefinite fast started on April 5, 2011 in demand of Lokpal bill at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi became a benchmark for the countrymen and common people including celebrities supported the Modern Gandhian’s indefinite strike. Within a week time, the government agreed upon bringing the Lokpal Bill in the parliament by Monsoon session. However, the proudy Kapil Sibbal and his team from the Congress party did all the misdeeds to make a weak Lokpal bill.
In today’s generation, most of us have not seen Mahatama Gandhi and his way of fighting against the English. However, Anna Hazare has provided us a glimpse of the ‘Freedom Struggle’ through his fight against the ‘Corrupt’ officials of the government including politicians. The only difference Mahatama’s fight was against the White English (Gore Angrez), while Anna’s fight is against the Black English (Kale Angrez).
Anna’s 16th August onward indefinite fast was a big threat for the ruling government. Hence, in the morning of 16th August, the Delhi Police had arrested Anna Hazare on the guidelines of ruling UPA government. Arvind Kejriwal and Kiran Bedi had also been arrested by the police. However, the arrest of Anna and his team members has given a new dimension to fight against the ongoing corruption in the country. Despite 66 years of Independence, we are living like slave in our country. Let us support Anna on his fight and be a part of the revolution that is required to demolish the corrupt politicians and government and non-government officials.
