Debate! Why we all are part of Corruption?

Article by KBC Editor – Kaifee Anwer

Today we are crying against corruption? Anna Hazare is fighting against corruption. Have we ever had a discussion that what is the root cause of corruption? We all are contributor to corruption. Why we are obliged to pay money at every step. To compensate that money we never loose any chance to earn the corrupt money.

A simple example: If you want to have Gas Connection in Delhi you have to pay bribe of 10% - 20% of the receipt amount. If you want to make a voter I card you have to pay 500 – 5000 with no guarantee that the Icard is genuine.

Every one says money is everything. If you don’t have enough money you can not survive in the society with dignity. You are obliged to earn money in short time to manage the over expanses to maintain the status in the society. At every marriage ceremony a huge amount is required. Most of the girls are victim of this culture. Everyone is doing the corruption to manage/promote the corruption. People are not satisfied with the life style which they have spent for last decades. The young generation never feels that earning via illegal method is wrong. They all are convinced that earning money is the ultimate goal. There is no humanity, its all about money. It’s true that this competition has created more physical satisfaction to this generation but they are not satisfied with their life. Real happiness is far from the society. Hyper tension, depression and all other activities which a human society doesn’t allow prevails.

The children are born with Doctor or Engineer. Their childhood is molested under the huge pressure of books & tuition. Every parent wants their children to go into IIT or AIIMS not to become a good Engineer or Doctor but to become a money earning machine. This generation is living under pressure. They have no time to relax or enjoy. The only time they have in disco pubs with injecting drugs. Once the children get their job at location far from Parent, they hardly care for their Parent who have devoted their hard earned money (most of cases it is from corruption) and time.

Anna Hazare & team are talking only about Jan Lokpal where Govt is supposed to pass the bill against corruption. But this is not the actual reason or solution of corruption. Corruption is inside every individual. Instead of Jan Lokpal there should be revolution for Jan Santushti where every individual has to create the feeling of Satisfaction and individual should not involve in corruption. Example: If all individual will decide not to offer bribe or Dahej then how this corruption will prevail in the society. Our society is leading towards a deep dark of inhuman culture. It’s the need of time to fight against own desires and stop ourselves from doing corruption. If this is not done then no Government or any Lokpal Bill and Thousands of ANNA HAZARE can stop the corruption.

Every individual has its own desire, thinking, responsibilities & situations in life. We can not stop others from doing wrong when we are wrong. But we can stop ourselves from doing wrong. The issue corruption is directly link with individuals. This is truth that we the common man is more responsible for corruption than the higher individuals. If we decide not to offer the corruption, the corruption will stop.

This is the main reason why Anna Hazare aandolan failed. If the same energy would have been put to individuals to correct them, we must have got better results. So we the common man is more responsible for corruption rather than the Government.
