Exclusive! 30th ranker in UPSC Animesh Kumar Parashar is DM of Kishanganj
First of all, KBC (www.kishanganjbihar.com) welcomes the new DM (District Magistrate) of Kishanganj Mr. Animesh Kumar Parashar. It is really a matter of pleasure that in the recent reshuffle of IAS officers, the district of Kishanganj got a young and first-timer DM. Mr. Parashar is a 2010 batch IAS Officer and before being appointed as DM of Kishanganj he was DDC of Bhojpur in Bihar. An alumnus of IIT Kharagpur, Mr. Parashar had already hit the headlines in 2010 by securing 30th rank in prestigious UPSC examination. Although Mr. Parashar had made it to Indian Forest Service (IFS), but he wrote the civil services exam brilliantly and came out with flying colours, albeit in his last attempt.

Hailing from remote Nawadih village under Obra block in Aurangabad district, Mr. Parashar is proud son of a schoolteacher Madheshwar Prasad Singh. He did his schooling (Matriculation) from Rajarshi Vidya Mandir and 10+2 from Sinha College in Aurangabad, Bihar. As per IAS magazine Mr. Parashar is a strong willed person with a keen sense of observation. He is a thinker and philosopher, and likes to sleep a lot. He has his own way of doing things with efficiency and effectiveness. He is a hard worker and loves facing challenges in life.
Kishanganj has high hopes with Mr. Parashar as the district is battling with several critical issues since decades. Corruption at all nook and corner of the district is a major issue that needs urgent attention from new DM. The first sight of corruption can be witnessed at Railway Station of Kishanganj which is just few metres away from District Collectorate. Other issues are poor health and sanitation, poor functioning of government run schools, red-tapism (babugiri) in government offices, crime at different levels, etc. On behalf of people of Kishanganj, the youth and energetic is requested to give attention to major issues faced by the masses.
