बाढ़ के चपेट में आये देश के उत्तरपूर्व राज्यों की तरफ चलने वाली ट्रेनें आगामी 20 अगस्त 2017 तक पूर्णतः रद्द रहेंगी ! गौरतलब हो कि सदी के भयंकर बाढ़ की मार झेल रहे किशनगंज, कटिहार, बारसोई के साथ - साथ नई जलपाईगुड़ी में ट्रेन सेवा पिछले करीब छः से ठप है ! रेलवे ने यह निर्णय गुवाहाटी - नई जलपाईगुड़ी - दिल्ली / कोलकाता रेल मार्ग पर स्तिथ किशनगंज एवं कटिहार जिलों में भयंकर बाढ़ की वजह से रेल की पटरियों और पुलों के क्षतिग्रस्त होने से लिया है ! इस समबन्ध में नार्थईस्ट फ्रंटियर रेलवे के मुख्य जन संपर्क पदाधिकारी श्री प्रणव ज्योति शर्मा द्वारा जारी प्रेस विज्ञप्ति में कहा गया है कि असम, पश्चिम बंगाल और बिहार राज्यों में विनाशकारी बाढ़ से क्षतिग्रस्त हुए रेल पटरियों की वजह से ट्रैन सेवा 20 अगस्त तक स्थगित रहेंगी ! विज्ञप्ति में कहा गया है कि सभी ज़ोनल रेलवेज को यह दिशा निर्देश दिया गया है कि मालदा और कटिहार रेलवे स्टेशन से आगे ट्रेन का परिचालन स्थगित रहेगा !
All trains to the Northeast from rest of the country have been cancelled till August 20 due to damages on tracks due to floods in Assam, West Bengal and Bihar, officials said today.
“The Railway Board has directed all zonal railways to cancel trains travelling from various parts of the country beyond Malda town and Katihar till August 20, 2017,” Northeast Frontier Railway chief public relations officer Pranav Jyoti Sharma said in a statement. Rail connectivity in flood-hit portions of Bihar and West Bengal continues to be affected with marginal improvement in situation today.
“However, virtually no accessibility to most of the damaged sites has affected the restoration work. Telecommunication network in the entire section is badly affected also,” he said.
