Human Chain meets Shashi Tharoor! Thanked for AMUK

A delegation of Human Chain met Mr. Tharoor this Wednesday at his office in New Delhi and expressed gratitude for getting the official formalities fulfilled from his ministry. Many political leaders and ministers had given due attention to the matter of AMU Kishanganj till it witness the start of session from this November. One such minister is Shahi Tharoor, the Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Government of India.

The delegation led by Mohammad Aslam, president Human Chain was comprised of Mohammad Mudassir Alam, Minnat Rahmani and Abid Anwar. Mohammad Aslam thanked Mr. Tharoor for his continuous support and regular follow-ups from his side for the cause of AMU Kishanganj, which is going to benefit thousands of people from the educationally and economically backward area. “We had invited Mr. Tharoor to visit Kishanganj to inspect the upcoming centre of AMU and also to participate in Seemanchal Education Conclave, an educational conference going to be organized by our organisation in the third week of November,” said Mr. Aslam. “Although Mr. Tharoor has not given his complete assurance but he said that chances for his Kishanganj visit are high and would be confirmed shortly,” added Mr. Aslam. 

Minnat Rahmani, secretary Human Chain lauded the effort of the MOS for HRD and Congress led UPA government for gifting the centre of prestigious Aligarh Muslim University in remote area of Kishanganj. “This is a landmark project of UPA II government and it is going to open various windows of opportunities,” said Minnat Rahmani who is also holding the post of spokesperson Bihar Congress Minority cell. Mohammad Mudassir Alam, vice president Human Chain said, “We had met Mr. Tharoor a couple of months back and requested him for giving green signal to the DPR related to AMU Kishanganj and fund release for start of the session.” “In our last meeting in July Mr. Tharoor had assured to give all support and he met his promise,” said a delighted Mudassir.

It should be noted that this past week after a long wait the session for the proposed centre of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) at Kishanganj was announced by the university administration on September 21. The Aligarh Muslim University is starting the 2013-14 session at Kishanganj with Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) course in various subjects of Arts, Science, Social Science and Commerce. There are a total of 60 intakes for AMU Kishanganj centre. Human Chain, a Delhi based non-government organization working as a front-runner group for the establishment of AMU Kishanganj centre had expressed happiness over the recent developments and thanked the concerned stake-holders and ministers. The organization is planning to meet other ministers to express gratefulness in the coming weeks.
