Majority of the students in Seemanchal area of Bihar especially the districts of Kishaganj, Katihar, Purnia and Araria have either not received the cheques or their cheques are not enchased by the Nationalized banks like State Bank of India, Bank of India, Gramin Bank, etc. KishanganjBihar.com talked with the students and social activists regarding the irregularity in the distribution of cheques. A senior citizen and social activist Nayemudding Qasmi said that the District Education Officer (DEO) and Block Education Officer (BEO) are not showing interest in distribution of cheques. Hence the whole administration is responsible for the improper act. In fact, thousands of cheques are stored in the offices of DEO and BEO. Similarly, the Managers of Banks are misguiding and even threatening the students and their wards, and completely denying to open the cheques.
This is a big failure on the part of Congress led UPA government, Nitish Kumar led NDA government and the managers of banks. The meritorious Muslim students who deserve financial help from the government are facing hurdles to receive the small amount due to negligence of the stake holders. Need of the hour is that all concerned should give proper attention to distribute the cheques among the deserving students, unless it will surely create chaos.
