Bihar Elections: Polling for Phase 5 going in amidst Maoists boycott

Polling for Vth phase of Bihar Elections is going on today (November 9, 2010) in 35 assembly constituencies. As per the guidelines of Election Commission, the general poll timings is 7 am to 5 pm , except in 12 constituencies, namely Arwal, Bikram, Bodh Gaya, Kurtha, Jehanabad, Ghosi, Makhdumpur, Phulwari, Masaurhi, Paliganj, Rajauli and Gobindpur, where the poll hours are from 7 am to 3 pm due to security reason.


Besides one constituency from Jamui District, 8 districts that will go to poll in 5th Phase of Bihar elections that include Patna, Sheikhpura, Nalanda, Bhojpur, Arwal, Jehanabad, Gaya and Nawada. Despite Maoist poll boycott voters are reaching the polling booths to exercise their votes.
