Happy Eid to All
After 29 days of Ramadaan, Eid-ul-Fitr brought lots of happiness and joy for Muslims across the world. Likewise in our district Kishanganj Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated with great pomp and gaiety. People congregated at various places of the district headquarters including Anjuman Islamiya Madarsa, Khagra, Badi Masjid, and other parts of the district to offer Eid Namaaz (prayer). As the namaaz finished, people congratulated each other by hugging and handshaking. Later on people, visited each other’s home and ate sewayian (special sweet made from milk and sewayi).

However, the joy of Eid-ul-Fitr in Kishanganj and other parts of Bihar and Jharkhand was badly marred by the rumours. Some people set out the rumour that girls in different district died or badly fell sick due to application of Mehandi (Heena). The rumour spread like wildfire and situation got panic as parents and wards took their children to hospital with complains of irritation and burns in hands. News was also flashed in various news channels. In Kishanganj too, around 2 pm announcements were made from various Masjid and people were guided to remove Mehandi from hands. 
In the morning, similar rumour raised regarding packaged milk. People were suspicious about buying packaged milk and its use for making Kheer and other dishes. Whoever has spread such rumour is really a shame and inhuman act. Eid-ul-Fitr is a festival of exchanging happiness and joy. But, people should always neglect such baseless rumours and apply their minds.
