it is coincident that the western new year calender falls in the month of muharram so i take the opportunity to wish both the way Islamic (belated) and Western happy new year to all.

On the eve of New Year, a message was posted by Mr. Mahtab Azad assuring his pledge to Boycott Dahej............................................... It was indeed a heartening pledge in terms of fighting social evils. He also made it very clear that the society has a great hope from their youths; therefore we should come forward to fight against the social evils to bring about a change in our in our own capacity. In my opinion he has raised a very crucial issue of DAHEEJ as social evil. And our newspapers are full with stories relating to dowry death and falling sex ratio of our great nation, thanks to Daheej (Dowry system).
I personally believe that the youths are bearing the responsibility to fight against this whole polluted system of Daheej. Our Community in general, did not have this menace earlier, but it is gaining its ground as the so called educated youth are demanding more Dahej than the non educated.
I have strong faith and believe that Mr. Mahtab Azad will keep his promise by not receiving any single pie as Dahej. Moreover, I also assume that others who are planning their marriages in subsequent year will make a history by not TAKING DAHEJ. Isha Allah.
Remember
An ounce of action is worth a Ton of theory (Eangle).
The youths who are living in big cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Dubai and other part of the world “feels the pain of the community” and always express their opinion to change the society. But who will initiate it.................
We all celebrated when Maulana Asrarul Haq won the election and we anxiously suggested what he should be doing. But what about our own role towards the society, at large.
We do produce Report Card for our leader which is indeed very essential. But at the same time do we make our awn assessments towards the role that we should play. We can certainly make a difference by taking a pledge to fight the social menace.
And many of us can make a difference in days to come
It was painful that there were only two responses to Mr. Mahtab’s New Year pledge. It is simply because we often contribute significantly on other issues but we find it very convenient to be silent on the beautiful pledge of not taking Dahej on a personal initiative.
I simply feel, it’s a blatant Hypocracy
Let me take this opportunity to say that I am not going take Dahej. And it would be really heartening if other come forward and pledge with Mr. Mahtab “
“That we will discourage the culture of DAHEJ a social Menace BY NOT TAKING IT ............and many of us can actually make a difference by standing on this principle while marrying. (Remember, this is one of menace that requires immediate attention).
