AMU in Kishanganj: District Administration files FIR against tribes

If the report of a local newspaper is taken account, then there is a latest update about the proposed AMU site land in Kishanganj. According to the newspaper report, the District Administration of Kishanganj has filed an FIR at the Kishanganj Police Station on April 1, 2010 against the illegal encroachment of tribals on the proposed site near Chakla Village.

As per the report the District Administration had filed the FIR against 47 tribe under the IPC acts 143, 144 and 447. The complaint no is 87/10 that says about illegal encroachment of the tribes and forcefully making the huts on the proposed site of AMU campus in Kishanganj.

Quite interestingly, the tribals are making false claim that they had been allotted the land 30 years ago. But in truth the tribals have made their huts on the proposed site few weeks back only after the approval of AMU campus land by Bihar cabinet.

Meanwhile the tribes are trying to oppose the move of the District Administration and planning to appeal to Chief Minister of Bihar. However, the claim of tribals is totally politically motivated and their move is only focussed on gaining monetary benefit. The fact is that the proposed land was deserted since decades and only it recognition after the approval of Kishanganj District Administration as the proposed site for AMU off-campus study centre.
