With the every passing day the matter of AMU special centre in Kishanganj is becoming anxious, and locals are loosing faith over the Nitish Kumar led Bihar Government. Model Code of Conduct is going the impose on August 22, 2010, and apart from tall claims and baseless remarks made by Nitish Kumar, nothing is happening on the ground level to sort out the land issue. Like common people of Bihar, Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor Prof. P. K. Abdul Azis and his team is eagerly waiting for getting any confirmation regarding the land transfer issue and on-paper agreement with Bihar Government.
At the mean time, Joint Movement For AMU Special Centre (JMFASC) a Kishanganj based committee is all set to ready to do a protest infront of the District Collectorate on August 9, 2010. A meeting of JMFASC was held a couple of days back at Bajme Adab Urdu Library in Churipatti, Kishanganj that was participated by MLA Akhatural Imaan, Senior Lawyer Nirmal Prasad, Prof. Rizwanul Haque, Prof. Gulrez Roshan, and dozens of other people. During the meeting the committee decided to pressurise the insensitive government to take work on immediate basis.
AMU Special Centre in Kishanganj has fully become a political issue and even some greedy politicians and people trying to make it a communal issue sighting the Muslim factor. However, the proposal of AMU Special Centre in Kishanganj is not meant for Muslims only, it would offer education to all sects of the society residing in various parts of the Bihar.
I would personally appeal to the Bihar Government, BJP’s student win ABVP and other who oppose the AMU centre in Kishanganj. Please understand the real issue, and make the way easier for the establishment of AMU special centre in Kishanganj. In the long run the university campus will bring the economically deprived district in the path of progress, and it would generate huge employment opportunities as well.
