Millat Girls High School just behind Bajme Adab Library is well known to all. Likewise, being a resident of Kishanganj, I am also seeing the school (only from outside) since my school going days. However, today morning I visited the school to meet the students of Rahbar Coaching Centre. After taking a marathon 2 hours long interactive session with students of Class VIII, IX & X, I had a quick chat with Shahbuddin Khan Sb, the founder of Millat Girls High School.

Oh My God! The next 15 to 20 minutes chat with him once again saddened me a lot. Millat Girls High School, as the name signifies was established way back in 1990s by Shahbuddin Khan Sb. with the motive to promote education among girls.
All through the talks, described about the political interference and dirty moves of former MP Taslimuddin due to his spat with the then MP Syed Shahnawaz. Reason, Syed Shahnawaz once visited the school and provided his assistance for establishment of NCPUL Centre and Taslimuddin found it objectionable due to personal rivalry. Even, the former Kishanganj MLA Akhtarul Imaan had made the promise about giving financial assistance to improve the infrastructure but it was never fulfilled.

In between the talks Shahbuddin Khan Sb an Ex District Education Officer got emotional as well and described his struggle to bring the school to serve the real purpose. But in truth, his mission is on the verge of failure. Reason, the educated class, local bureaucrats and the politicians as well didn’t give proper attention to the step of Shahbuddin Khan Sb.

I will sign off with a BIG Question Mark. We talk about establishment of AMU Study Centre, Minority University in Kishanganj. However, do we care about the existing institutions like Millat Girls High School. I am sure, if the educated class lend some attention to Millat Girls High School in Kishanganj , the goal of Shahbuddin Khan Sb can be fulfilled……
