Concern!Goons, Bike Snatchers and Thieves wrack havoc in Kishanganj

2
A big concern needs attention of all including common people and the district administration. Nowadays, the gang of bike snatchers, bike thieves and house thieves are highly active in the district headquarters of Kishanganj and other parts of district. Almost every day such cases come to notice from different parts of Kishanganj. Few days back the bike lifters fled with the new Passion Pro of Faringola Village resident Kamrul Hoda. The bike was later found abandoned near Majlispur. Another biked was also stolen from same village that is still untraced. Similarly, many cases of thieving have been reported from the Subhas Palli, Kajlamani, Paschim Palli, Churipatti and other parts of district headquarters.

On October 21, 2011 an incident of bike snatching happened in Kochadhaman Police Station of Kishanganj. Mohammad Sadique Anwar, a businessman from Dahuwabari village, Bishanpur was attacked by the bike snatchers at around 8 pm while he was on way to home from Chopra Bakhari. As per 38 years old victim, he was on his Yamaha Crux BR37 – 7712 and attacked by 4 – 5 snatchers in head with stick. The goons later on fled with his motorcycle leaving behind a dagger and a stick.

The next day Anwar had lodged an FIR before the incharge of Kochadhaman Police Station. In response the Police had arrested two youths in suspect who were release later on after enquiry. 10 days have passed since the incident happened with Bishanpur resident Anwar, but still the police is clueless and unable to give any definite answer about the case. The act of Police is certainly irresponsible and it doesn’t look much sincere to resolve the case.

Mohammad Sadique Anwar - The Victim
Not only this case, almost all the cases registered for Snatching and thieving remain unresolved in Kishanganj even in district headquarters. Kishanganj is the place of peace loving people and such incidents has created havoc among all. In fact, people often complain on the negligence attitude of the Police in resolving such cases. Apart from lodging an FIR, the Police don’t show any interest for the cause of common people. The District Magistrate (DM), Superintendent of Police (SP) and Police should show sincerity to control the menace created by the thieves, snatchers and goons.

  1. Mudassir bhai, you have rightly raised this concern of bike thieves which has become a daily activity of some miscreants in the town area I have heard that some bikes have been stolen from MGM medical college gate, after two three months later bikes had been recovered from Malda district. With this recovery, things have been very clear that the gang is operating from West Bengal and their goons are monitoring things in Kishanganj. They have a very strong network of thieves in Kishanganj, Islampur, Chakulia, Deviganj, etc. We are fortunate that we got our bike but there are others who don't have any clue.
Police administration must take hard action to crack down the network immediately to stop such kind of incidences.
