Surjapuri community is listed under OBC-II category as per the Gazette of Bihar Sarkar Karmik and Prashasanik Sudhar Vibhag, Sankalp Sankhia No-II/Bihar,5 ja-ni/ 02-ka-500 Patna dated16.10.2003. As per the guidelines the Surjapuri Muslims can have certificate under Backward Class, Annexure II.
The certificate makes the Surjpuri students eligible for scholarship (approximately equal to complete fee amount) for pursuing a professional course like Diploma in Engineering, B. Tech (Bachelor of Technology), BCA (Bachelor of Computer Application), BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration), MBA, MCA and many other courses. The scholarship can be availed from Social Welfare Department of home districts, namely Kishanganj, Katihar, Purnia and Araria.
Documents to be attached with the application form:
- Residential Certificate from Block / District headquarters
- Income Certificate from Block / District headquarters
- Caste Certificate from Block / District headquarters
- Bonafide Certificate from enrolled College
- Fee Structure from enrolled College
- Previous Exam marksheets including Class X and Intermediate (10+2)
