The brain behind world famous ‘Bihar Anjuman’ and Rahbar NGO, Shakeel Ahmad
was in Delhi
this past week. Shakeel Ahmad who keep himself updated with activities done for
social causes wished to meet the members of Human Chain. Led by President
Mohammad Aslam the team of Human Chain comprised of members Mohammad Mudassir
Alam, Minnat Rahmani, Khalid Mubashshir and many others met with Shakeel Ahmad
at his Delhi
office.

A simple man in white kurta – payjama warm heartedly welcomed
the team of Human Chain. All were highly impressed with the persona of Shakeel
Ahmad. During the two hour long talk Shakeel Ahmad appreciated the work of
Human Chain for the cause of AMU Kishanganj and its mission to work for the
deprived people of Seemanchal. In fact, he has ensured all support from Bihar
Anjuman in future for the welfare projects run under the supervision of Human Chain. Shakeel Ahmad said that Bihar Anjuman is always ready to support Human Chain for any noble cause.
About Shakeel Ahmad
He is a man of action and believes on giving physical shape
to small and big ideas. He is true believer of Islam and lives with the vision
to spread the Islamic concept of ‘Cooperation’ for the welfare of community and
nation. He is no other than Shakeel Ahmad, the founder of widely known Bihar
Anjuman (BA) group which is working as a registered society with the name
Rahbar. Started on 11th March 1999 by Shakeel Ahmad with some people in Dubai with the aim to help
those who may be in need of financial help or job, the Bihar Anjuman had done excellent
work for the needy for past one decade.
On 14th June 2004, the Yahoo Group of Bihar Anjuman came into existence and
rest is history.
As of now there are 22 free coaching centres called as
Rahbar Coaching Centre of Bihar Anjuman for financially weak students enrolled
in government schools from Class VIII to X in the states of Bihar
and Jharkhand. There are madarsas run by Bihar Anjuman for financially weak
students. In addition to these, the Bihar Anjuman group runs several projects
for the welfare of society that include scholarships, matrimonial assistance
among many others.
With the support over 10,000 members and sponsors including
Muslims and non Muslims the Bihar Anjuman is fulfilling the dreams of
financially weak people in Bihar and Jharkhand
along with many parts of the country. The man behind all these generous works
is Shakeel Ahmad, who despite being based in Dubai (UAE) for past decades is
running a successful campaign with support of over 10,000 volunteers.
I had congratulated Shakeel Ahmad for the success of Bihar
Anjuman and also thanked him for his splendid work and services to society and
nation. Shakeel Ahmad shared too many things and his personal experiences but
he insisted over ‘cooperation’ among people for upliftment of the society
time-and-again. In fact, he said Bihar Anjuman succeeded due to the concept of
cooperation and we meet the expectations of members and sponsors. This is great
to know that Bihar Anjuman is getting support from Muslims as well as non
Muslims. So religion is not at all a barrier for noble works done by Bihar
Anjuman.
Initially we had faced some problem that was obvious to run
a huge campaign for social upliftment, but today we are finding ourselves at a
very good position. The volunteers and sponsors come forward in large numbers for
any running project and new proposals. We start receiving responses from
volunteers and sponsors within 24 hours and that strengthen us to move ahead.
Shakeel Ahmad shared two many things during two hour talk with me, but what
impressed me most was his personality and belief on the ‘Concept of
Cooperation’. If we start believing on the concept of Bihar Anjuman’s founder
Shakeel Ahmad, we can surely bring a change for society and nation. Before closing I will say an B.Tech from BHU and M.B.A (XLRI) Shakeel Ahmad is a man of substance and he can be a role model for issues related to the society.
