Eid-ul-Fitr celebrated with full fervour in Kishanganj, Seemanchal

Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest festivals for Muslims all around the world and a special occasion marked by the love, peace, happiness and communal harmony was celebrated with full enthusiasm in the district of Kishanganj and entire region of Seemanchal unlike other parts of globe. Although it had rained heavily for 4 to 5 hours in Kishanganj just before the Eid prayers in the night but people celebrated the festival of Eid with great pomp and enthusiasm. The heavy rains just a couple of hours before the Eid prayers didn’t affected the festive mood even to small level.

In the district of Kishanganj people started the day by putting up the new clothes and offered the Eid prayers at Eidgahs and mosques. After offering the prayers of Eid people greeted each other by shaking hands and giving hug. The chant of ‘Eid Mubarak’ was coming from every nook and corner of Kishanganj. Of course, the delectable dishes specially the traditional ‘sewaiyan’ was the highlight of Eid-ul-Fitr in all Muslim families. Not only the Muslims but the people of other religions faiths also celebrated the Eid-ul-Fitr by greeting to Muslim brethren and savouring ‘sewaiyan’.

Eid was celebrated with equal enthusiasm in other districts of Seemanchal namely Araria, Purnia, Katihar, Supaul, Saharasa and Madhepura. People were seen with smiling faces and greeting each other with the chant of 'Eid Mubarak'. However, the recent riots in Assam, migration of north-east people from different parts of the country and massacre of Muslims in Myanmar (Burma) had reduced the joy of festival upto certain extent. In almost all the places where the Namaaz of Eid was offered the Imams and people prayed to bring peace and brotherhood among the people across the world.
