The Lok Janashakti Party (LJP) leaders and more than 6,500 workers took part in Jail Bharo Andolan on August 9, 2012 (Thursday) in the district headquarters of Katihar. Led by former Loksabha Candidate Ahmad Ashfaque Karim from Katihar constituency, the Jail Bharo Andolan was joined by Balrampur constituency MLA candidate Aadil Hassan Azad and other noted leaders like Samrender Kunal and Mohammad Zahid. The party leaders and workers were agitating against the corruption charges on Nitish Kumar NDA government in Bihar.
Lok Janashakti Party has alleged that the Bihar Government is involved in corruption worth Rs. 82,000 crore that include scams like AC / DC Bill and land scam. The party had also blamed the Government of Bihar for complete failure in maintaining the law and order. In fact, the youth leader of LJP Aadil Hassan Azad said that Nitish Kumar is doing all types of investment in the area located around Nalanda that include the establishment of Central University and construction of new airport. Later on the protestors had given arrest before the District Administration.
