India’s most financially weak (poor) district Kishanganj became rich for one day. Sounds Unbelievable???This sounds awkward and unbelievable for Kishanganj but this is true. What happened this past week on Saturday (April 27, 2013) is Kishanganj was not less than a ‘Royal’ story. Just like the high-profile wedding ceremonies organised by big corporates in metros like Delhi, Mumbai, a similar kind of wedding happened in Kishanganj district of Bihar.

As soon the people came to know about the weddings, they had started to criticize the groom for excessive expanses. Marriage is once in a life time affair hence people try to celebrate in a memorable way. There is no wrong if someone spends his / her savings to make the celebration grand. However, excess of everything is wrong especially in financially backward district like Kishanganj and somehow it brings the life’s best celebration under scanner.
Mumtaz Naiyer, a resident of Thakurganj, Bihar currently based in London opened a debate on Facebook in the group “Association of Seemanchal Professionals” and received varied feedbacks / opinions on the high-profile marriage.
