AMU Alumni Faraz Haider makes Bollywood debut with War Chhod Na Yaar

The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in Aligarh has produced many geniuses who had made a big name in their respective fields. The alumni of AMU have also made a remark in Bollywood the second biggest film industry in the world. An AMU Alumni Naseeruddin Shah, who coincidently is the younger brother of current Vice Chancellor Zameer Uddin Shah is among the biggies and one of the finest actors in Bollywood. Javed Akhtar (lyricist and scriptwriter), Anubhav Sinha (director), Muzaffar Ali (director), Dalip Tahil (actor), K. Asif (director), Majrooh Sultanpuri (lyricist), Rahi Masoom Raza (script writer), Saeed Jaffrey (actor), Shakeel Badayuni (lyricist) and Talat Mahmood (singer) are some of the popular names associated with Hindi film industry.

The latest addition in the list AMU alumnus with Bollywood is Faraz Haider, who is news nowadays for War Chhod Na Yaar. Described as the first war comedy of India, War Chhod Na Yaar is written and directed by Faraz Haider and scheduled for October 11 release across India. Hailing from the birthplace of noted Hindi film director Kamal Amrohi, Faraz has done Bachelor and Masters in Physics from Aligarh Muslim University. During AMU days he was very actively participating in culture programmes especially stage dramas, skits and mimicries organised in various hostels and Kennedy Auditorium of the university. He had also hold the position of President of AMU Drama Club and taken the club to new heights with his innovational thoughts. Later on he moved to Asian Academy of Film & Television (AAFT) in NOIDA for professionally learning the film making. Before War Chhod Na Yaar, Faraz has assisted Dibakar Banerjee in his highly acclaimed Oye Lucky!Lucky One movie in 2008. 

Produced by AOPL Entertainment, War Chhod Na Yaar features Sharman Joshi, Soha Ali Khan and Javed Jaffrey. As soon the promos of the movie were released in YouTube and television entertainment channels it got positive response. War Chhod Na Yaar has already created a buzz and the makers are reportedly planning a sequel as well. Made on an approximate budget of Rs 13 crore as per the makers the movie has a strong subject that can be moulded in sequels.
