Human Chain’s sincere effort made Seemanchal Taleemi Mela a big success

The president of Human Chain shared the efforts of his organisation for the establishment of AMU centre at Kishanganj. He said the hard work of the organisation brought a positive and fruitful result, and AMU Kishanganj Centre is a reality now as the B.Ed session started from this session.  Mr. Aslam also shared the achievements and work done by Human Chain since its inception especially the activities in past one year....



Human Chain kept its promise to the residents of Seemanchal to organize the mega educational event every year in different districts of the area, and the sincere efforts of the organization was complemented by public with huge attendance at the venue Town Hall, Kishanganj. For two days of the event on 23rd & 24th, November, the district headquarter of Kishanganj especially the venue turned into an educational hub thronged by students, school teachers, parents and wards, educationists, activists, politicians, and of course the common people at large scale.

Kishanganj which saw an unprecedented crowd presence for a developmental programme graced by eminent persons from the State and outside. While the first day of the Education fair was meant for various types of competitions for the school and madarsa children. Highlights of the first day of event were educational discourses, expo, career counselling, debate, quiz, comedy, painting, personality development, introduction of various scholarship schemes and other cultural activities.

The second day was dedicated to a conference on the topic named as, “a Conference on Social, Educational & Economic status of Seemanchal and role of civil society”. The education fair was graced by many guests belonging to political background, education, social work and other fields. Along with the Chief Guest, P.K. Shahi, Hon’ble Education Minister of Bihar, the programme was attended by Mr. Anand Kumar, Director & Founder of Super 30, Mr. S.M Qutbur Rahman, President AMU Alumni Forum UAE, Mr. Tanweer Alam, President AMUAAM.

We will work for AMU further as well till the Centre properly develops into a full-fledged campus. Mr. Aslam also shared the achievements and work done by Human Chain since its inception especially the activities in past one year. Further, he added that Human Chain has many plans / projects in the pipeline, one of the biggest plan is setting up Free Coaching for Navodaya Vidayala aspirants and high school children.

A proficient speaker, Mr. Aslam totally captivated the attention of the audience and all eyes were fixed on him. His talk was highly appreciated by the audience and guests. With his expertise, Mr. Aslam beautifully presented harsh facts about the region of Seemanchal supported by statistics and his copy-book emotional speech that left all spellbound. Claps of audience were complementing the speech of Mr. Aslam, which echoed inside the venue and also outside. In short, the speech of Mr. Aslam was a wonderful mix of truth and emotion that touched the hearts of the audience.

Minnat Rahmani - Secretary and Khalid Mubashshir - General Secretary of the organisation did the anchoring of the programme. Along with giving a shape to the two days programme, they had played a crucial role in keeping the audience attentive all through the event. Mujahid Akhtar Naaz and Tarique Sufyan two governing body members of Human Chain also did anchoring in between.

Following recitation of the Holy Quran by Tazammul Hoque and release of a book authored by Kabir Uddin Fauzan, Sunday’s programme started with a speech by Gopal Agarwal, social activist, who lauded the initiatives of human Chain and exhorted them to work for increasing the number of educational institutions in Seemanchal area, particularly schools for girls. 

Speaking as the chief guest, Bihar HRD Minister PK Shahi, reiterated the importance of education in the life of a citizen. He said, without education no man can be complete and no society civilised. He also did not lag behind in announcing bounties for the region – establishment of five plus-two schools in each Block of the region is going on and one agriculture college for Kishanganj is on the pipeline. Highlight of his speech was his association with Human Chain since 2011 and efforts made by the organisation for getting the hurdles cleared for AMU Kishanganj Centre. Mr. Shahi said, the team headed by Mohammad Aslam met with him at Bihar Bhawan in New Delhi and convinced him for providing required 250 acres land to AMU administration. I was highly impressed with the modus operandi and efforts of Human Chain, and provided the required land from the Bihar government on immediate basis along with fulfilling other necessities.

Anand Kumar, Director Super-30, Patna gave a clarion call, “The time has come for the people of Seemanchal to rise from their slumber, ignite your will power and bring in the desired social change.” He said Super-30, with the help of Human Chain, would conduct special tests in this region during March-April 2014 to select poor and meritorious students for IIT coaching.

Tanweer Alam, President AMU Alumni Association Maharashtra, expressed happiness to see overwhelming presence of girl students at the STM and said women’s emancipation is important for they are the pole stars of the family. Parvez Siddiqui, GS, Sir Syed Minority Foundation, Aligarh solicited support of the community leaders for early restoration of the minority status of AMU, which he said was of utmost importance for the community. 

SM Qutubur Rahman, President AMU Alumni Forum UAE announced that he would arrange funds for conducting as many as 50 awareness and coaching programmes in the region in the coming year besides facilitating establishment of a referral hospital for the people of Seemanchal. Syed Mahmood Ashraf, National Executive Member JDU, compared the initiatives of Human Chain to ‘Second freedom struggle’, which he said would free people from darkness and ignorance.

Internationally renowned Islamic Scholar Abdul Khalique, now located in UAE, made the announcement that a network of NRIs are raising over Rs 100 crore for the expansion and glorification of AMU and their services would be available for the educational development of Seemanchal also. Prof Suhail Sabir of AMU expressed the hope that Seemanchal would soon emerge as a role model in the educational development of all backward regions of the country. He announced that Gen Zamir Uddin Shah, VC, AMU could not attend the programme as he had to leave for an important engagement overseas. Prof Sabir read out a message from the VC in which the latter said a new wind of change would be blowing over Seemanchal with the functioning of the AMU Centre here.

Prof Javed Akhtar, in-charge of AMU’s outstation centres, revealed the fact that for the B Ed course of AMU there were 238 applications at Murshidabad centre, 137 at Mallapuram centre and as many as 750+ at the Kishanganj centre which reflected the enthusiasm of the people here to be the beacon light in the field of education. 

Prof Rashid Nihal, OSD AMU Kishanganj Centre, announced that the classes of AMU were commencing at Kishanganj on November 26. He placed on record his appreciation for the support extended by the local people, District administration, and State Government as a result of which the AMU Centre could start functioning from here. Dr Izhar Ahmed, Chairman, Estimate Committee Bihar, Maulana Asrarul Haque Qasimi, MP of Kishanganj was present with Akhtarul Iman, MLA of Kochadhaman.

Human Chain team comprised of Treasurer Mujahid Akhtar Naaz who was also Chief Organiser of the Seemanchal Taleemi Mela (STM), Secretary Minnat Rahmani, who was also the convenor of the programme, Tarique Sufyan, Khalid Mubashshir, Salman Akhtar, Manazir Ahsan, Mizanur Rahman among many others given their best to make the event successful. Mohammad Aslam, President of Human Chain had thanked his team, volunteers and guests for making Seemanchal Taleemi Mela a historic and memorable event.
