Just a day after Bihar education minister P K Shahi expressed his unhappiness and raised a protest with Union Human Resources Development Minister  M M Pallam Raju over the absence of invitation to the state government for the foundation laying ceremony of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) centre at Kishanganj, the Centre on Tuesday evening sent an invitation the CM Nitish Kumar for attending the function.

Angry Nitish gets invitation

The letter from MHRD says that, “It has been a long-felt need for the region and All India Congress Committee president Sonia Gandhi has agreed to lay the foundation stone of the AMU centre. You are also requested to attend the function.” The letter was received around 5:15 pm on Tuesday at CM’s office as per the information shared by PR department. Quite coincidently a courier from AMU Vice Chancellor Lt. Gen (Retd.) Zamer Uddin Shah carrying the invitation was also received at the CM’s office.

Earlier, Nitish Kumar had criticised the UPA government at the Centre for not inviting the state government and said that Union government had set a wrong precedent.  It is not clear whether the chief minister will attend the function or not as he is out of Patna and returning on January 29. However, if he makes his presence in the function it would send a positive message among the common people and AMU Kishanganj would be benefited a lot in the coming time especially in its infrastructure development.
