After reports of irregularities in its MBBS entrance test for the year 2015-16 and subsequent enquiries, Aligarh Muslim University on Monday decided to go ahead and declared the results for MBBS / BDS entrance test soon. In a press release, the University said, "The Executive Council of Aligarh Muslim University, after in depth deliberations, has unanimously accepted the report submitted by the Enquiry Committee headed by Hon'ble Mr. Justice Imtiyaz Murtaza, former Judge, Allahabad High Court, which clearly stated that there was no foul play in the conduct of the affairs that happened at the Kozhikode Centre Kerala in the MBBS/BDS Entrance Test 2015-16 held on April 26, 2015. It also held that the procedures followed were in conformity with approved norms."

In the press release, the university said, "Detailed Inquiry Report has highlighted that there was no foul play in the conduct of the said examination and that the bulk of successful candidates had secured exceedingly high percentages in their Senior Secondary Examinations and most of them had also qualified for the KEAM (Kerala Engineering and Medical) examination."

Earlier in May, the varsity had cancelled the entrance examination for MBBS/BDS held on April 26 and ordered to conduct a fresh entrance examination. The decision to cancel it had come in the wake of reported selection of a large number candidates from a dubious centre (Farooque College), in Kerala. As per the report more than 30 students (candidates) had qualified for M.B.B.S only from Kozhikode Centre, which put the AMU administration under suspension. A total of 44,700 candidates had appeared in the test this year for 145 seats of M.B.B.S and 35 seats of B.D.S. When the result was prepared by the AMU Academic section the concerned officials were surprised over the data of Farooque College in Kozhikode, from where alone 30 candidates qualified in the merit list. Around 70 seats are offered to external students in AMU and qualification of 30 students from a single centre created doubts. On 23rd May the Vice Chancellor Lt. Gen (Retd.) Zameruddin Shah called a meeting of Executive Council and put hold on the result.
