Purnea division (district) of Seemanchal (Bihar) makes entry into the Limca Book of Records with a national record on 8th September, 2016. In one of its kind first and huge-scale event in India, more than 12 thousand students, volunteers and common people formed a human chain holding a 7,100 metre long and 1 metre wide tricolour. The event started from Gulabbagh Zero Mile ending at Dagarua on National Highway (NH) 31 on August 20, 2016.
The event was organised by Sunil Kumar Suman, director of Koshi Alok Production and it was dedicated to soldiers who have laid down their life for the country. It took around 30 days to make the tricolour. On 8th September, 2016, Vijaya Ghose, Editor, Limca Book of Records issued the certificate to the organisers.
