Monsoon Calling You Home

Monsoon is all set to reach in various parts of the country. Likewise Kishanganj is also waiting for the rainy season, but the rain has started to pour in the district well in advance. In fact, people of the district do not have any special importance of monsoon because the rainy season starts here right from the month of April. Almost every two or three day, it rains in Kishanganj heavily which provide relief to local people from the scorching heat of April and May.

Fondly called as ‘Cherapunji of Bihar’, Kishanganj observe maximum rainfall. Local folk have categorized the rainy season in different part and named them as Hathiya, Satya etc. The rainy season begins here by June and remains till late September. The lakes, ditches and rivers of the district get full of water and you will water and water every where.

Sadly the excessive rain destroy the crops, and the main river Mahananda get flooded and destroy several villages. Despite all the pains, the people of Kishanganj greet the rainy season with open hands and enjoy to bath in rains, or catch fishes in lakes, water logged areas and fields etc. So, get ready to welcome the Monsoon as its is knocking the door and may come within a week or two. Surely you have got bored with rough weather of Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai or other cities of India, so manage one or two week vacation and head straight towards the native town. Surely you will feel yourself refreshed and energetic.
