For the past a couple of years the construction of flyovers at Ruidhasa (Gumti No: 316) and Inter High School (Gumti No: 315) railway crossings are much talked about topics. Since the beginning of the projects locals are highly excited about the functioning of the two flyovers. However, due to slow work progress people are also facing problem in crossing the railway tracks and huge jams occur everyday. People are still anxious about the exact inauguration dates of the two flyovers so that there daily movement can become easier.
Here I am sharing good news with you all regarding the recent update by the district administration about the possible start dates of the two flyovers. DM Kishanganj Mr. Feraque Ahmad himself updated about the work status and inauguration dates. Mr. Feraque Ahmad said that the flyover (Gumti No: 316) near Ruidhasa will be started by 21st April, 2010. While the flyover near Inter High School (Gumti No: 315) will be opened for public on 15th June, 2010.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ahmad said that the railway crossing (gumti) no: 309, 311 and 312 will be permanently closed keeping in mind the interest of common people. While railway crossing (gumti) no: 398, 313 and 314 will be kept functioning to provide easy accessibility to the people of district headquarters.
As the DM Kishanganj has given the dates for the inauguration of two flyovers, let us whether the work gets finished on time or not. But the reality is that the tryst of Kishanganj with flyovers had not remained so good in the past. The Khagra flyover took around a decade to get finished, similarly the flyover near Indira Talkies couldn’t be constructed and the contractor deserted the work on halt.
