After the transfer of former District Magistrate Feraque Ahmad from Kishanganj, Dr. Sandeep Kumar R. Pudakalkatti a new DM who took over the charge on July 7, 2010. Nitish Kumar led NDA Government announced the transfer of 16 DMs including Feraque Ahmad on July 4, 2010. It was quite surprising announcement for people of Kishanganj, because it was almost sure that Feraque Ahmad would remain DM till the Assembly Elections in Bihar that is scheduled in November.
Born on June 13, 1978, Dr. Sandeep Kumar R. Pudakalkatti cleared the India’s premier Civil Services Examination in the year 2006. After clearing the Preliminary Test (PT) Mr. Pudakalkatti took the Civil Services (Main) written examination in October – November 2005. Finally Mr. Pudakalkatti appeared in the Personality Test (Interview) held in April, 2006 and in order of merit recommended for appointment to Indian Administrative Service (IAS). Dr. Sandeep Kumar R. Pudakalkatti had the roll number 001318 and secured the rank 248 out of 425 candidates who had been finally recommended for appointment in IAS, IFS, IPS and Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’.
An officer of Bihar Cadre, Dr. Sandeep Kumar R. Pudakalkatti is very young and energetic. It is really a matter of happiness for the people of Kishanganj that they have got a 32-years-old District Administrator. Kishanganj is battling with many issues for a long time, hope Dr. Sandeep Kumar R. Pudakalkatti will tackle all the issues with ease.
