In a surprising move and somehow expected former MP Mohammad Taslimuddin did not get ticket from Kishanganj constituency. Referred to as the 'Gandhi of Seemanchal' the veteran leader recently joined the Janata Dal (United) and was seen as one of the party candidate from Kishanganj could not get ticket. BJP's new face Sweety Singh will now contest against Congress's Dr. Javed Azad and RJD's Tasiruddin.
Taslimuddin's name was featuring in JD (U)'s 87 candidates list but it was withdrawn in last minute. When second list of Janata Dal (U) came it was again missing the candidate's name from Kishanganj Constituency. Meanwhile, Janata Dal (U) declared 3 names from 3 out of 4 election constituencies, namely Mujahid Alam from Kochadhaman, Gopal Kumar Aggarwal from Thakurganj and Masawwar Alam from Bahadurganj. Based on seat sharing trend it became clear upto certain extent that Taslimuddin will not get Janata Dal (U) ticket.
It became somehow clear that BJP will get ticket from Kishanganj, but again Sweety Singh's name came as big surprise. Trilok Chandra Jain and Sanjeev Yadav were expected as BJP's deserving candidates from Kishanganj. Meanwhile, BJP declared list of five candidates announced today (October 2, 2010) for the Bihar Assembly polls. In its second list BJP dropped sitting MLA Janardhan Yadav from Narpatganju constituency. Besides declaring woman candidate from Kishanganj, BJP has given too a woman candidate Damayanthi Yadav from Narpatganju constituency.
Sashi Bhushan Hazari (Kusheshwar Asthan-SC), Sachendra Singh (Kesaria) and Suresh Sharma (Muzaffarpur) are the other names in the list declared today. As per BJP these names were finalised based on the outcome of a party survey.
