In Kishanganj district the illegal ticket reservation work was started way back in around 1998 by an agent. Initially, he was charging Rs. 25 for booking a train ticket. Later on, illegal agents cropped up in the district headquarters and other parts of the district. The trend continued further and the agents started to book train tickets in advance with some hypothetical names like S. Raza, Munna Singh, Pappu Yadav etc. with variable ages. Fact is that, today you can more crowd at the shops of agents then the railway reservation counter of Kishanganj.
As per authentic sources the agents have connection with ticket booking staff appointed at the reservation counters and they pay commission for each ticket. Even, they consult the railway officials at New Jalpaiguri and Guwahati for getting confirmed ticket. The network of illegal ticket reservation has is affecting the common people all through the year, and the local administration is doing nothing to stop the unlawful act done across the district.
It is the right for Indian Railways to take a call and make the ticket reservation process an easy affair. The ministry should work upon the official booking website www.irctc.co.in to make it fast during the peak hours. And, the Railways should also issue a guideline to administrations of various districts across the country to stop the illegal railway ticket reservation. Hope this article will open the eyes of Kishanganj District Administration, Bihar Government, Indian Railways and the Central Government as well.

ReplyDeleteEven we cannot mange tickets ourselves from counter or online. That is the reason I travel with both side tickets from Delhi.
Its really painfull as we the educated people cant help ourselves, the whole system is corrupt, most of the time i found "server down" message on counter at the time of Tatkaal I mean in the morning 8 'O' clock.
Once again i must say that matters of education , travelling, Conveyance, or our social development is completely in hand of our elected leaders. But alas we are not so fortunate that any one is there to see all these situations.

ReplyDeleteI like to thanks Mudasir Bhai for taking step forward with such issues. Almost we all suffer with these problem but we are ignoring, due to these ignorance they corrupt people get change to grow up in our society.
ReplyDeletebefore 2 or 3 years these Railway ticket brokers charge Rs-20 to Rs-25 but now they cross all limit and openly told that Rs-1000 extra charge on per ticket.
It is now a time to stop all these illegal activity.
Mudassir Bhai, do something if possible to curb illegal ticket booking centers at our town. We face host of problems in this regard because of some very greedy people.
