SBI Kishanganj: A hub of ill-management and unfriendly staffs (Branch Manager)

1
State Bank of India (SBI), the largest nationalized bank of India is enjoying the top position and has become the first choice for every Indian citizen who wishes to have a bank account. The bank is growing day by day, and more and more branches have been opened across the country every year in big cities and small towns as well.
In the district of Kishanganj (Bihar) State Bank of India has many branches sprawl across the town of Kishanganj (2 branches), Bahadurganj and Thakurganj. In fact, SBI (main branch) Kishanganj has maximum number of customers including some NRI account holders. Being the top bank of India, State Bank of India is supposed to offer customer friendly services to account holders.

However, State Bank of India Kishanganj, Bahadurganj and Thakurganj can be called a hub of ill-management and centre of ill-mannered staff including the Branch Manager. All these branches including the SBI Main Branch at Kishanganj opens on time, but no any bank work start before 11 am. The staffs of the bank did all types of misdeeds and even rebuke the customers as well during the office time.

The bank working hours is 10 am to 4 pm. However, the staff at bank hardly work for 2 hours. Their shift starts from 11 am, and in half an hour they take breaks like tea break, pan (betel) break, water drinking break. They also make the network failure an issue. Fact is that, they work whatever they wish, and don’t care about customers. Most importantly, if you reach out to the Bank Manager, he will not turn up to help you.

Similarly, the ATMs of State Bank of India across Kishanganj town remain out of order for most of the day. Only the ATM at SBI Main Branch works properly, but it also remains out of order many times in a day.

On behalf of the customers of SBI, I ask some questions to the top management of the group. Does the bank pay anything from its side to customers? Nothing! In fact, a bank runs only public’s money. And without the public money it can’t run for a while. The State Bank of India should ensure the smooth transactions in their branch. Unless, the customers can go to higher authority regarding the hassles faced by them.
