People in the district headquarters of Kishanganj is in havoc nowadays due to criminals snatching money / bags in broad daylight. On Wednesday (June 20, 2012) a retired High School teacher from Kochadhaman block was attacked by bike-ridden criminals on rickshaw between Churipatti and Pashimpalli while carrying cash in worth fifty thousand.

On Wednesday (June 20, 2012) a retired High School teacher from Kochadhaman block was attacked by bike-ridden criminals on rickshaw between Churipatti and Pashimpalli while carrying cash in worth fifty thousand.
As per family member, the senior citizen had visited the main branch of State Bank of India (SBI) at Gandhi Chowk (Hospital Road) to withdraw money (Monthly Pension). After withdrawing few thousands money, the retired teacher put the same in his bag and took a rickshaw for Paschimpalli.
While he was on Churipatti – Paschimpalli Road (College Road), two persons came side by side of the Rickshaw and started snatching his bag. The senior citizen had tried his best to save his valuable money and the carrying strings of the bag broken in forcible exchanges from both sides. The criminals fled away from the spot in hurry without bag.
Although the senior citizen saved his valuable money from the snatchers, but he was highly upset and under havoc. For a while the retired High School teacher was badly shivering and he had to take medicine for coming back to normal. It should be noted that such incidents are happening in Kishanganj for past few weeks and the district administration is totally showing negligence towards the issue. The same incident happened with a resident of Terrhagach Block a couple of days back and the criminals snatched Rs. 50,000 while the person was going back to home from Bank.
In the recent time the law & order situation is grieving in Kishanganj and such incidents of loot are coming into notice. Need of the hour is that the District Administration of Kishanganj must take hard step to stop such cases unless the criminals can also attack the victims that in-turn can cause severe injuries or even casulty.
