Thousands attended funeral of Salma Khatoon, wife of MP Asrarul Haque

From this Monday the people of Kishanganj and Purnia division were mourning the sad demise of Salma Khatoon, the wife of MP Maulana Asrarul Haque. 66-years-old Salma Khatoon died of cancer on Monday at Batra Hospital in New Delhi. She was ill for past six months. Since Tuesday morning the relatives, common people and party workers of Congress were waiting for the corpse of Salma Khatoon in the district of Kishanganj. On Tuesday morning the corpse of MP’s wife was taken from Delhi to Bagdogra Airport by the flight of Air India. An ambulance was ready at the airport for carrying the deceased to her native place Tappu. 



The ambulance carrying Salma Khatoon was followed by cavalcade of vehicles. At around 4 pm the ambulance reached to Tappu (Tarabari), Kishanganj. Maulana Asrarul Haque himself performed the namaz-e-janazah in the campus of Milli Girls High School at Tarabari, which was attended by thousands of people including politicians and party workers from various parties. The corpse was buried at Tappu graveyard in presence of huge gathering. The hands rose for prayers before the Almighty for late Salma Khatoon and they did dua-e-magfirat. 


Former Kishanganj MP and Union Cabinet Minister Taslimuddin was present in namaz-e-janazah along with Bahadurganj MLA Tousif Alam, Kochadhaman MLA Akhtarul Iman and JD (U) leader Syed Mahmood Congress. Youth Congress Lok Sabha President Pintu Choudhary was also present there with youth congress members namely, Mohammad Manazir Ahsan, Mohammad Mustaqim, Mohammad Gulzar and Mohammad Sajjad Baghi.
