Human Chain - a non-government society had flagged off the much ambitious Seemanchal Education Conclave (SEC) on October 31, 2012 in the district headquarters of Kishanganj. Human Chain organised the first ever of its kind conclave at Town Hall which was participated (attended) by people from all sects. Amidst a huge gathering comprises of students, educationists, activists, politicians and common people, the Human Chain society announced to annually celebrate a special day dedicated to 'Education'. Seemanchal Education Conclave featured several competitions for school and madarsa students that included Quiz, Debate, Na'at, Qera'at, Standup Comedy, Patriotic Song, Painting etc.
The conclave started at 9 AM with Quiz competition in which the students of various schools participated. Gharibullah and Zeeshan Ali from Crescent Public School (CPS) took away the 1st Prize by surpassing Sir Syed Public School Barsoi (Katihar) and Line Urdu Middle School (Kishanganj). The participants performed very well in various competitions. After the competitions finished, the Conclave proceeded ahead with a seminar named as 'Educational Awareness in Seemanchal'.
The seminar was attended by Prof P.K. Abdul Azis (former Vice Chancellor AMU, Aligarh), Feraque Ahmad (Retired IAS), Ahmad Asfaque Karim (Chairman Katihar Medical College), Maulana Asrarul Haque Qasmi (Member of Parliament Kishanganj), Manoj Kumar (Superintendent of Police, Kishanganj), and Mohammad Aslam (President Human Chain). All the chief guests were given 'Guest of Honour' award (memento) along with a shawl by Human Chain.
Human Chain has honoured Mr. Akmal Yazdani with Lifetime Achievement Award for his valuable contribution in the field of historical studies. Dr. Mohan Lal Jain, Physician was honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding contribution in the field of medicine.
