A good news for the residents of Kishanganj district has come in the form of creation of two new sub-divisions and three blocks. This past week Sandeep Kumar Pudkalkatti, District Magistrate of Kishanganj had given hints about declaring Bahadurganj and Thakurganj as new sub-division of Kishanganj. The DM said that he had ordered his officials to send the proposals of two new sub-divisions and three blocks to the state government. The three proposed blocks are Kanhyabari in Kochadhaman block, Chhatargach in Pothia block and Pauakhali in Thakurganj block.
The people of Kishanganj are demanding for declaring Bahadurganj and Thakurganj as sub-divisions since long time. If the government of Bihar accepts the proposal of Kishanganj district will get two new sub-divisions, with Dighalbank, Terhagacch and Bahadurganj blocks under Bahadurganj sub-division and Pothia and Thakurganj under Thakurganj sub-division.
The step of Kishanganj District Administration is welcomed by many across the district including common people, activists and politicians. Fact is that it will provide relief to people residing in far-flung areas of the district who need to travel a long distance for reaching Kishanganj to get their government offices work done.
