Nitish Kumar’s attack on Modi loses essence! Bihar itself needs a facelift

0
This Sunday (April 14, 2013) the country witnessed a ‘Grand Political Drama’ occasion was the national meet of Janata Dal United (JDU) in national Capital New Delhi. While addressing his partymen, Nitish in his 40 minute speech attacked Gujarat CM Narendra Modi without mentioning him and given references for which the latter is criticised countrywide especially for the negligent and somehow biased approach towards Muslim minorities. Some of the references were ‘fulfillment of Rajdharma’, ‘wearing of Islamic skull cap (topi)’, ‘applying tika on the forhead’, ‘development Vs malnutrition’, etc. etc., all these were used for Modi. In his entire speech it seemed Kumar is playing the hide and sick game, but when his party's top leaders were contacted they didn't revealed the name of person who was being targeted by the Bihar CM.

Nitish Vs Modi
Although Nitish spoke with logical facts and shown his concern towards the country's development and a Prime Minister who can take the nation ahead with inclusive approach, but his words lost credibility because he is running government in Bihar with support of Bharatiya Janata Party. This is good to speak the truth but round-about way of criticising someone can't be encouraged by voters of the country particularly from Bihar. Nitish led NDA government in Bihar has been criticised for many irregularities in the state. Be it education or health sector, poverty or employment, Nitish and his government has failed to meet the expectations of common people.

When Nitish was slamming the Centre a month back on March 17, 2013 at ‘Ram Leela Maidan’ during ‘Adhikar Rally’, the primary teachers were protesting against the negligent attitude of government regarding salary and other benefits. While protesting in capital Patna, the teachers including ladies teachers were lathi-charged by police in the streets. In a very cheap statement the Education Minister of Bihar said even Bhagwan (God) can’t change the salary and fortune of contractual primary teachers. Nitish Kumar and his government has also been criticized in past for paid news in media and covering up the issues of people residing in the state.

Hardly anyone can forget the terrorising act of BJP MLC Ashok Agarwal and his henchmen at Bhajanpura in Araria district in which four villagers were killed and nine got injured in police firing. Still the victims are waiting for justice, instead the local police have recently issued arrest warrant against 50 villagers including six dead persons. Nitish was criticised by opposition and human right groups for his biased stand on the terrorising act as the BJP MLA was having close link with deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi.  If Kumar and his party is really concerned for issues of minorities, it must part way from BJP in Bihar, unless the indirect attack on Modi seems nothing more than a publicity stunt for projecting himself and his party in a self-projected bigger way.

At the same time, instead of making tall claims Nitish Kumar and JD(U) must think about solution of major issues the state people is battling since long time. Still the mass-migration of educated and illiterate people from state is happening at large scale. The state government hardly has any plan in place to curtail down the ratio of mass-migration from state. The available agricultural resources in the state is not used properly by the state neither there are processing plants for fruits like Litchi, Pineapple, Mango, Banana, etc, which can generate huge employment and money. Similarly, the education and people associated with the teaching profession need proper respect, the rights must not be snatched with muscle power.

Blaming or criticising someone or some leader, making tall and false claims are not going to solve the problems of Bihar. Need of the hour is that the ruling government must think about the problems seriously and its possible solution. Bihar is not going to be benefited with anti-Modi remarks by Nitish or his partymen.
