Hadiabada in Araria district of Bihar organized one of the biggest religious congregations in the world this past week from 13th March to 15th March, 2013 during the Tablighi Ijtema. The Islamic religious congregation was attended by followers of Islam and other religious faiths from different parts of Purnia division, Bihar and across the country and globe. Around 35-40 lakh followers of Islam visited the Ijtemagah during the grand Tablighi Ijtema including 20 lakh people gathered in ‘Ijtemai Dua’ (prayer) on the final day. The three Ijtema ended with prayers for peace, brotherhood, cooperation, and welfare of humanity, nation and world.
The Islamic religious gathering was also attended by many politicians of Bihar including Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, Lok Janashakti Party President Ram Vilas Paswan, Member of Parliament from Bhagalpur Shahnawaz Hussain, former Cabinet Minister Mohd Taslimuddin, State President of Congress Ashok Choudhary, MLA Zakir Anwar, MLA Sarfaraz Alam, LJP leader Ahmad Ashfaque Karim. The elders who had attended the Ijtemagah said that this is the biggest Ijtema after the one organized in the year 1994 at Araria. The people of Hadiabada pretends themselves lucky for being the host of grand Ijtema.
Tabligui Ijtema is organized with the aim to spread the teachings of Islam and make the followers aware about the religion in truth. Many aalmis (scholars) of Islam deliver speeches in light of glorious Qoran and Hadith of Prophet Mohammad S.A.W. The people who have attended the Ijtema especially the ‘grand prayer’ on final day were feeling themselves fortunate and returned to their homes with divine peace of mind. However, many who couldn’t attend the Ijtema prayed for its success and happy with the response of gathering for strengthening the bond with Islam. 15 years back a grand level ‘Aalmi Ijtema’ was organized at Belwa in Kishanganj in 1998, which was too attended by lakhs of people.

Ijtema is a urdu word that in english is congregation.Any congregation can be called Ijtema But by common meaning it is called for Islamic congregation or meating. And literally also it has difference from conference word.
There is Popularly known Aalmia Alami Ijtema or (World Congregation) and small Ijtema are held all over the the world.Although the elders of Nizamuddin don't use the words like Aalami Ijtema/ Tablighi Ijtema but it becomes popular with these names. I would like to have a brief account on Ijtema and its role in the whole effort of Tablighi Jamaat.
The work of Tabligh is based on the basic effort meeting Muslim Personally at their doorstep may be at houses Markets fields etc.
The basic pattern of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam work was to go to the people.People not desirous of deen But Prophets used to convince them. It is most difficult Job. If someone is having Desire (Talab) for deen for him/her road is very easy. He can go to Madarsa/Can learn from Ulemas directly or by books.
Role of Ijtema
1. It is actually a training camp for Islamic way of Life.Actually the Ijtema also revole around the same Objective. It is not like other conferences having formalities of President /chief guest/Posters/Banners/Decorative Stage.
2. The focus remain in Ijtema for sending Jamaats from Ijtema, To reach the general Muslim with the Amaal e Dawat and to encourage them to do after returning home. Ijtema is a place of motivation.
3. It also serves the Purpose of Ummathood as in big Ijtema People from all parts of the world Participate for a commpn issue of Allah way of life for themselves and for whole mankind till the day of Qiyamah.
