Al-Nawaz Restaurant - A class restaurant run by Shahnawaz from Katihar

Surjapuris have made their mark in different fields including setting up own business. Many are successful in running their own businesses in national capital Delhi and other parts of India. Shahnawaz, a resident of Chouki Village in Katihar district is the latest addition into the self-employed Surjapuris. He has opened a restaurant named as Al-Nawaz Restaurant at A Block of Abul Fazal Enclave very close to Jamia Nagar Police Station adjacent to Okhla head and D-Block. Belonging to Surjapuri area which is a language based area comprises of Kishanganj, Katihar, Araria, Purnia and Uttar Dinjapur, Chef Nawaz has added a new chapter with his restaurant.

The epicureans in Delhi’s Okhla village area have got a new address to enjoy authentic Royal Mughlai cuisine. Thanks to Chef Shah Nawaz for offering erstwhile Mughalai treat to royal food lovers in this part of South Delhi.  With an experience of over 10 years as chef in leading five star hotels of the national capital, Chef Shah Nawaz headed towards Okhla area to delight the taste-buds of die-hard foodies with his self-innovated variety of delicacies picked from traditional Mughal platters. The scintillating recipes and best chosen delicacies of the Mughal era prepared in supervision of Chef Nawaz has made the restaurant a favourite place for groups and families.

Of course, Chef Nawaz’s association with five star hotels is the biggest USP for the restaurant, but the rich aroma and taste of the food served at the restaurant is the big reason for its acceptance among its regular visitors. The weekends become more special for the gastronomes at this Mughalai-cuisine hub as some of the dishes are served only from Friday to Sunday. Al-Nawaz Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner all weekdays except Tuesday. The menu is quite elaborative encompasses almost everything that a foodie usually look in a typecast Mughalai restaurant. That’s why the restaurant got a wholesome response from foodies in a short while after it opened a couple of months back. A delighted Shah Nawaz, owner of Al-Nawaz said, “I had opened the restaurant for the people of the area looking for authentic Mughalai cuisines with a unique flavor. I am quite glad that visitors to the restaurant are appreciating the dishes prepared under my supervision. This is quite encouraging and I would keep on offering the best of Mughalai dishes to meet the expectations of my regular and new visitors.”

Be it tandoori, kabab, rolls, appetizers or non-vegetarian items with gravy, biryani or dessert, the complete course of meal at Al-Nawaz simply leave one totally amused. Must try at Nawaz include Anmol Chicken (with gravy), Nawaz Special Chicken Fry, Nawaz Special Butter Chicken, Chicken Kali Mirch, Handi Ghost with Qima gravy, Murgh Barra Tawa and Dum Pukht Murgh Biryani. In addition to the regular items for parties or get-togethers, Nawaz offers a variety of special Mughlai Royal food on order like Murgh Badshahi, Murgh Begum Bahar, Murgh Mumtaz, Murgh Honey, Zafrani Gosht, Peshawari Gosht and Nizami Biryani. The Hyderabadi Kheer with balanced ingredients especially sugar give an excellent finish to the royal feast at Al-Nawaz. The delicacies at Al-Nawaz are on higher side that are enough to leave you spellbound, but the restaurant bill is also going to leave you with a smile as the service tax is completely wiped off and save extra pennies in your wallet.
