AMU Kishanganj Centre celebrates 198th birth anniversary of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan

The Aligarh Muslim University Centre in Kishanganj, Bihar organized a function to mark the 198th birth anniversary of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, founder of the AMU. Addressing on the occasion, the chief guest, Mr. Mohammad Salam, Chairperson, Bihar State Minority Commission, stresses the need for accelerating the development pace at the AMU Kishanganj Centre. He emphasized that AMU Kishnaganj Centre had the potential to eliminate darkness of ignorance that had engulfed the Seemanchal region. He also assured that Bihar State Minority Commission would provide full support to the Centre in its endeavours for educational development in the region.


Dr. Rashid Nehal, Director of the Centre said that the Aligarh Muslim University was an epitome of modern scientific thinking and religious cohesion. He said that AMU is among the biggest centres of ethical upbringing of youths, engaged in realising the dreams of Sir Syed.

Dr. Nehal said that the Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah has written to the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development regarding the release of funds for the centre that were allocated by the previous government. He said that AMU Kishanganj Centre has not received the funds sanctioned by EFC despite completion of all formalities by the AMU administration. He urged the government to expedite fund releasing.

A video documentary was also played on the occasion to showcase the high traditions of academic and cultural advancement in the AMU campus. Prof. T.V.R.K. Rao, Principal, Marwari College, Kishaganj and Mr. Zafeer-ul-Hasan, Executive Engineer, Water Resource Department graced the occasion as guests of honour.

Ms. Pratima Rai B.Ed. Topper of 2014-15 batch was felicitated during the function while winners of Easy Writing Competition were awarded prizes. Ms. Sana Tanweer got the first prize while Ms. Naziya Aisha won the second prize and Ms. Mahwish Fatima, Ms. Nausheen Ansari and Mr. Shahid Imam shared the third prize. Dr. Agha Nuruzamman proposed a vote of thanks and Mr. Mohd. Asjad Ansari conducted the programme.
