A day after making derogatory remarks about the Prophet Mohammad Salla Sallallahu 'Alaihi wa Sallam (S.A.W) in a WhatsApp group of Kishanganj (Bihar), the accused Professor Umesh Nandan Sinha was arrested from Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Confirming the news, Kishanganj SP (Superintendent of Police) Mr. Rajiv Mishra said that the accused professor was arrested from the residence of his son at Bistupur in Jamshedpur. The SP said following the FIR lodged by Press Club Kishanganj Chairman Mr. Sukh Sagar Nath, a special team of Police was sent to Jharkhand to arrest Prof. Sinha, who was later nabbed with the help of state police. After coming across the news of arrest of the accused the locals who quite shocked with the derogatory remarks come back to normal. With the timely intervention of civil society of Kishanganj town and quick action of district administration the matter was resolved within short time, unless it could have been given birth to unpleasant circumstances. The life is back to normal in Kishanganj following the quick arrest of the accused.
A Retired Professor earlier working in Department of Hindi, Marwari College, Kishanganj, Umesh Nandan Sinha was also working as a reporter with Hindi daily. On Monday, June 27, 2016 the ageing professor written a very objectionable post quoting Prophet Mohammad S.A.W, and shared it on a group run by the Press Club of Kishanganj. After going through derogatory remarks, the members of Press Club raised objections and demanded for action against Prof. Sinha. In the meanwhile, the post was shared in other WhatsApp groups of the Kishanganj and adjoining areas, and people started to condemn the Professor for misdeed and demanded his arrest.
Keeping in mind the sensitivity of the matter, with the possibility of outrage the Chairman of Press Club, who is also the admin of WhatsApp group lodged an FIR in the local police station. The police has registered the FIR under case No 262/16 under the acts 500, 504, 505, 506, 506(2), 295 (A) 153, IPC 66 A IT Act. The accused will be presented in the district court for further legal action.
In the meantime on Tuesday, a meeting of "Peace Committee" of was held at Rachna Bhawan which was attended by the DM Kishanganj Mr. Pankaj Dixit, SP Kishanganj Mr. Rajiv Mishra, officials of district administration, intellectuals, social activists of Kishanganj town and adjoining areas. In the meeting all condemned the act of the accused professor and urged from the people to have patience and maintain peace in the the district.
पैग़म्बर मोहम्मद सल्लल्लाहो एलहिए वसल्लम के खिलाफ सोशल मीडिया व्हाटस एप पर आपत्तिजनक टिप्पणी पोस्ट करने के मामले में किशनगंज पुलिस ने आरोपी सेवानिवृत्त प्रोफेसर उमेश नंदन सिन्हा को गिरफ्तार कर लिया है। प्रोफेसर सिन्हा की गिरफ़्तारी की पुष्टि करते हुए एसपी श्री राजीव मिश्रा ने कहा की उन्हें मंगलवार किबसुबह झारखंड राज्य के जमशेदपुर स्तिथ बिस्टुपुर में उनके पुत्र के आवास से गिरफ्तार किया गया। एसपी ने बताया की सोशल मीडिया पर आपत्ति जनक मेसेज पोस्ट करने वाले आरोपी सेवानिवृत प्रोफेसर को झारखंड पुलिस के सहयोग से गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया है। उक्त मामले को लेकर सदर थाना किशनगंज में प्रेस कल्ब के अद्यक्ष सुखसागर नाथ ने मामला दर्ज़ कराया है, जो की व्हाट्स ऐप ग्रुप के ऐडमिन भी हैं जिस ग्रूप में आपत्तिजनक बातें पोस्ट की गई थी! सुखसागर नाथ के एफआईआर (FIR) के आधार पर पुलिस ने कांड संख्या 262 / 16 के अंतर्गत धारा 500, 504, 505, 506, 506 (2), 295 (ए), 153 आईपीसी 66 ए आईटी एक्ट के तहत मामला दर्ज कराया गया है!
मामला संज्ञान में आने के बाद सोमवार की देर रात किशनगंज से एक विशेष टीम को रवाना कर दिया गया था। उन्हें किशनगंज लाया जा रहा है। यहाँ कोर्ट में उन्हें प्रस्तुत किया जायेगा। इधर आपत्ति जनक मैसेज पोस्ट करने के मामले में सोमवार की देर रात्रि तक डीएम, एसपी और शहर के प्रबुद्ध नागरिकों के साथ बैठक आयोजित की गयी। जिसमें सभी ने मामले को निंदनीय बताया और मामले की कड़े शब्दों में निंदा की है। आरोपी की गिरफ्तारी की सहमति बैठक में मौजूद लोगों ने भी जताई थी। डीएम और एसपी ने शहर के नागरिकों से शांति बनाये रखने की अपील की है। मामला प्रकाश में आने के बाद शहर की सुरक्षा बढ़ा दी गयी है। पुलिस के अधिकारी देर रात से ही शहर का गस्त लगा रहे है। संवेदनशील स्थानों पर मजिस्ट्रेट के साथ पुलिस की तैनाती कर दी गयी है। शहर में कई तरह की चर्चाए हो रही है। जिला प्रशासन ने सूझबूझ का परिचय देते हुए किशनगंज जिले में एक बड़ी घटना होने से बचा लिया! मंगलवार को भी रचना भवन में शांति समिति की बैठक आयोजित की गई! बैठक के दौरान एसपी ने कहा कि जिले के सौहार्द को बिगाड़ने वालों को किसी भी हालत में बख्शा नहीं जाएगा!
