The inauguration of first Distance Learning Centre of Jamia Millia Islamia in Seemanchal region took place by Honorable VC of JMI Prof. Talat Ahmad at ITI Ground, Tauheed Educational Trust Campus, Kishanganj Bihar this past week on 17th July 2016 (Sunday) in the presence of esteemed guests, namely 1. Dr. Ashok Chaudhary (HRD & IT Minister, Bihar), 2. Dr. Mujtaba Khan, Director Arjun Singh Centre for Distance Learning JMI, 3. Shri Minnat Rahmani (President, Bihar Pradesh Congress - Minority Dept.), 4. Mr. Parvez Akram Siddiqui (NRI, Community Leader & President - JMI Alumni- UAE) and 5. Prof. MJ Warsi, Washington DC.
“This Centre is the outcome of continuous effort and follow up by Human Chain Team with Director of Distance Learning, JMI and Honorable VC Prof. Talat Ahmed”, said Human Chain President Er. Mohammad Aslam Alig. in his key note address. “Prof. Talat Sb. fulfilled their promise to open Distance Learning Centre in Kishanganj which was announced by him in an Educational Conference organized by Human Chain at Madrasa Aisha Niswan, Sehra Tola, Purnea. Human Chain is also committed to take initiatives to open the Distance Learning Centres of JMI in all the MCD's of North India with the help of Jamia administration”, He added.
Mr. Motiurrahman Madni, Chairman Tauheed Educational Trust, Kishanganj expressed his gratitude and thanked to Jamia VC Prof. Talat Ahmed to approve the center in a very short span of time and coming again at TET Campus for Centre Inauguration. Mr. Madni also thanked warmly to Er. Mohammad Aslam for his immense support and guidance in this regard.
He also expressed his commitment to run this center with excellence in order to convert it into a grand University. Mr. Madni also sought support from HRD & IT Minister Dr. Ashok Chaudhary to establish a Private University in TET Campus. Dr. Chaudhary during his speech, shown his will to provide the TET all the support to make this dream happens.
Dr. Ashok Choudhary in his address, promised to provide all the support in Education Sector for Kishanganj and Seemanchal Region as well. He also promised to meet HRD Minister, Govt. of India Mr. Parkash Javadekar with the delegation of Human Chain to resolve AMU Kishanganj fund issue requested by Er. Mohammad Alam Alig.
Dr. Chaudhary also assured to look into the matter of establishing a new University in Seemanchal Region as urged by Er. Aslam Alig that “there is not a single Private or Govt. University exist in this region except newly established APJ Kalam Agriculture University which not enough to cater the needs of Seemanchal students”.
Human Chain President Er. Mohammad Aslam Alig congratulates TET Chairman for opening the Distance Learning Centre of JMI and thanked to JMI VC and Director Distance Education JMI. He also requested JMI VC to allow for running B. Ed course in this Centre in near future as there is not a single B. Ed college exists in Kishanganj yet. Jamia VC also assured him to take necessary action in this regard.
Program was attended by large numbers of intellectuals, academicians, socials activist and youths of Seemanchal region.
