Abhay Kumar Dubey, a familiar face of Indian Television news channels is to deliver a talk on the topic "Role of Media in Contemporary Time" in Patna on 29th October, 2016. The talk is to be organised by a social group Bihar Collection as a part of its special programme "Guftugu" at Conference Hall, Bihar Industries Association, Industry House, Sinha Library Road, near Patna Museum in Patna. Mostly seen in debates of NDTV, Abhay Kumar Dubey is a renowned social scientist, political commentator, media critic and editor. A professor at CSDS (Centre for the Study of Developing Societies), he also directs CSDS Indian Languages Programme. He has written a number of books, the most recent being "Secular / Sampradayik: Ek Bhartiya Uljhan ke Kuch Aayaam", published this year. He has also compiled the enormous "Samaj - Vigyan Vishwakosh", a six volume Hindi Encyclopedia of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Bihar Collective is a recently initiated platform of artists, intellectuals, journalists and activists to promote diversity, pluralism and constitutional values. This initiative aims at bridging the gap between people working in various fields such as media, culture, law, science, arts, human rights, gender equality, films, music, etc. Bihar Collective plans to organize Guftugu, a discussion forum on last Saturday of every month at the Bihar Industries Association.
