Patna Coaching Institute forges photograph of IAS qualifier Ansar Shaikh, claims its Alumni

2
Nalanda Civil Services Academy (NCSA), a coaching institute functioning in Patna, Bihar has claimed Mumbai boy Ansar Ahamad Shaikh as its almuni by forging the name and picture. In fact, in a banned placed infront of B.N.College in Patna the coaching institute has published the photograph of Mr. Shaikh but given name is Gautam Thapliyal with Roll No. 0327695. Since, Ansar Ahamad Shaikh hit the news headlines in May 2016 for changing his name to get a flat in Pune. The face of Mr. Shaikh was very familiar to me, hence I noticed the wrongdoings of the NCSA on first glance. This is really a shocking incident, since the coaching institutions are following such tactics to attract the IAS aspirants. This particular instance give a fair idea about the acts of less reputed / recognised coaching institutions functioning in Patna and other parts of Bihar.

Ansar Ahamad Shaikh, the son of an autorickshaw driver from Jalna’s Shedgaon village, cracked the UPSC exam in his first attempt. Ansar Shaikh, who secured an All-India Rank 361, indeed faced religious discrimination while studying in Pune. Ansar had to change his name and became Shubham from Shaikh to get accommodation and food in the city.

Ansar Ahmad Shaikh came to Pune to pursue Bachelor of Arts, political science degree and UPSC preparations. In order to get proper accommodation and food, he was forced to change his name to a Hindu surname. “I remember when I went to look for a PG accommodation, my friends who were Hindus got rooms but I was refused. So the next time, I said that my name was Shubham, which was actually my friend’s name,” Ansar was quoted as saying by a newspaper.
