Bihar Assembly Elections are just round the corner, and Modal Code of Conduct will be implemented in the state on 22nd August, 2010. Keeping in mind the deadline AMU Kishanganj Co-ordination an organisation functioning from New Delhi is trying to turn all stones for making the proposed AMU off-campus centre in Kishanganj a reality. Since its formation in June, 2010 the committee is holding meeting with political leaders, key authorities of AMU court members and AMU Vice Chancellor as well.
AMU Co-ordination Committee held a meeting with Janata Dal (United) MP Monazir Hussain on July 29, 2010 at JMI in New Delhi. Monazir Hussain came face-to-face with the whole episode and also became little annoyed due to contacting him very late regarding the issue. However, he assured his full support for the noble cause and ensured that he would fix a meeting with Janata Dal (United) President Sharad Yadav shortly.
After meeting the Monazir Hussain, Member of Parliament from Begusarai Constituency the members of the committee are looking optimistic. Next, the committee members will meet with AMU Vice Chancellor P.K. Abdul Azis on July 31, 2010 to discuss the status quo of the proposed study centre. Let us hope the issue of AMU Centre in Kishanganj get resolved before the implementation of Modal Code of Conduct in Bihar.
