Former Kishanganj DM Feraque Ahmad to contest bypolls from Kochadhaman Assembly Constituency

Just one day after the declaration of Intekhab Alam (Bablu) as the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate for by-elections of Kochadhaman Assembly constituency, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has declared former Kishanganj DM Feraque Ahmad as its candidate for the polls scheduled on 24th April, 2014. A retired IAS Feraque Ahmad was eyeing Lok Sabha ticket from Aam Aadmi Party, however the state committee recommended Alimuddin Ansari for Kishanganj constituency. Feraque Ahmad was dejected after the declaration of Lok Sabha candidate list as he was expecting the ticket from Kishanganj.

After getting the nod from AAP high-command for Kochadhaman Assembly constituency, Feraque Ahmad left for Kishanganj on Thursday. As per his close aid he would file his nomination on Friday for the byelections, which is going to happen after Akhtarul Imaan left the seat to fight Lok Sabha elections from Kishanganj. 

With the arrival of Feraque Ahmad in Kochadhaman the battle is going to very interesting. Feraque Ahmad is very optimistic for his victory due to service offered to common people during his two year tenure as District Magistrate of Kishanganj. On the other hand, Master Mujahid Alam from Janata Dal (United) is expecting the win due to his consistent social work and concern for the causes of people of Kochadhaman. Intekhab Alam a popular house-hold name in the Kochadaman Assembly constituency is also popular among the masses. Who will win the battle of Kochadhaman it is really an interesting question before all, however whoever wins the common people are not going to get much as per their expectation as the Assembly elections in Bihar are due in November - December 2015.
