As per the report of ETV News Channel, Akhtarul Imaan the Janata Dal (United) candidate for Lok Sabha elections has announced withdrawal of his candidature from Kishanganj constituency. Although the decision is getting mixed-responses but the voters of Kishanganj were in big-dilemma due to fight of two biggies Congress sitting MP Maulana Asrarul Haque Qasmi and Akhtarul Imaan. The former Kochadhaman MLA announced his decision during a press conference at Kishanganj. The decision has certainly surprised the masses and Maulana Asrarul Haque Qasmi is going to be benefited with Akhtarul's BIG sacrifice.

The supporters of Maulana have started to celebrate as they are damn sure for their leaders win, however smelling the defeat, the supporters of BJP candidate Dr. Dileep Kumar Jaiswal are slamming Akhtarul Imaan and JD(U). Akhtarul Imaan has shown a BIG heart with this sacrifice keeping in mind the concern of people of Kishanganj. But, Maulana Asrarul Haque who is the Member of Parliament of Kishanganj must need to analyse the situation and keep the causes of people and their development first instead of pleasing the party high-command.

"I have decided not to contest the polls to minimize the chances of a split in secular votes and to ensure the defeat of the BJP in Kishanganj," Akhtarul said. Akhtarul, who resigned as a RJD legislator last month and joined the JD-U, was the latter's candidate from the Muslim-dominated Kishanganj seat. Akhtarul told the media that his presence in the election fray would divide Muslim votes and thus help the Bharatiya Janata Party's Dilip Jayswal.
"I have decided to sacrifice (myself). Now Muslims will vote in favour of the Congress candidate and outgoing MP Ashraraul Haque," he said. He said the BJP was seeking to divide Muslim votes to ensure a consolidation of Hindu votes in favour of its candidate in the April 24 ballot. The Congress candidate is also supported by the RJD of Lalu Prasad.
